Not all insurance carriers cover all or the same diagnoses. Just because you have coverage, doesn't mean they will cover the ailment you would like treatment for. Don't hesitate to get in touch with your insurance carrier if you have questions about exclusions or policy limits.

Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. The human body consists of more than 2,000 acupuncture points that connect in creating an energy flow, or Qi throughout the body, and is responsible for your overall health. Acupuncture works by helping your body tap into its own healing potential. Each acupuncture point lies on a meridian, an intricate network of lines that connect the whole body. By unblocking these channels, it begins to balance the body and stimulate its own healing process. Many techniques may be used to help balance out the body including needles, moxa, gua sha, tui na, cupping, nutritional therapy, and Chinese herbal medicine. Acupuncture is used to treat a variety of symptoms, ranging but not limited to allergies, fertility, pain management, fertility issues, and stress.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine may be used in accordance with acupuncture. We see and treat the body on the macrocosmic level, that interconnection exists within nature and is subject to its forces. Treatment seeks to restore this balance. The philosophy of Chinese herbal medicine proposes that everything, including the organs of the body, is composed of five elements. Herbs are used in correspondence with the elements, to balance particular parts of the body. The Chinese pharmacopeia includes thousands of different herbs. Most herbs are plant-based but can include mineral and animal parts. We primarily work with granules, pills, and tinctures to make them more palatable for the patient. Herbs will be prescribed based on a diagnosis of signs and symptoms that reflect an imbalance in the body.
